ABSTRACT
This article reports that British furniture companies eyeing the Russian market would do well to find a reliable partner with good contacts in the Russian registration and certification bodies. Face-to-face contacts and direct communications between an exporter and distributors are considered to be of primary importance for further establishing and developing a successful partnership. If a long-term approach and a consistent market strategy are applied, the market presents good trading opportunities. The contract furniture market in Russia is also rapidly developing, with a boom in hotel and leisure facilities developments like restaurants, bars, bowling alleys, multi-screen cinemas, water parks, and casinos.
