Fletcher is dual-qualified in Scottish and English law and qualified as a chartered accountant prior to his time as a lawyer, training with Arthur Andersen in Scotland and then working for Ernst & Young Inc. in Newcastle. Howrey Simon Arnold & White has merged with Houston litigation boutique Clements O'Neill Pierce Wilson & Fulkerson. Howrey's Houston office has bagged 22 lawyers from Clements and now has 90 in total. Orrick Herrington & Sutclifte LLP has opened an office in Taiwan to provide IP services to technology clients there.
