HD graphics: A US perspective

The article discusses the use of high definition (HD) television graphics in the U.S. In the last few years there has been a watershed in technology on both the demand side and the supply side of the broadcast equation that has made HD cost-effective enough for broad market penetration. Demand is there because there finally are the viewers at home watching. HD plasma, liquid crystal display, DLP and direct view displays are now available at affordable prices and sales are way up. Supply is there because the gap in cost and complexity between HD and SD graphics has been narrowed.
