ABSTRACT
This article reports that as New York City vies with four other cities for the honor of hosting the 2012 Olympics, Standard & Poor's Corp. published a report today reminding boosters that with the prestige of the games comes uncertain financial and credit impacts. After comparing the bid proposals of New York, Madrid, Paris, London, and Moscow, the analysts, working with the preliminary financing information available, concluded that each of the cities is capable, from a credit perspective, of hosting the games.
