ABSTRACT
This article reports that manufacturing activity in the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia's region continued to expand, at a slower pace than last month, as the general business conditions index plunged to 13.2 in January from 25.4 in December 2004. Economists surveyed by IFR BondData Americas predicted a reading of 25.0 for the index. Looking ahead, the six months from now general business conditions index slipped to 25.5 from 39.0 in last month's survey, prices paid was at 42.2, down from 62.2 in the prior survey, and prices received was at 28.6. down from 40.5.
