The article reports that San Diego based American Mortgage Network (AmNet) has launched a new correspondent channel. The business, headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, will purchase loans from small to midsized mortgage banks, credit unions and community banks. As a new distribution channel for AmNet, the correspondent initiative provides access to a customer base not currently covered under traditional wholesale channels. It expands the target market to include areas where the institution can effectively capture additional market share and incremental volume.
