ABSTRACT
The article presents a study on the use of turbidity test as an alternative method to the chemical oxygen demand (COD) analysis for the investigation of colloidal polymeric wastewater discharged by a chemical factory in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The objective of the study was to evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of the turbidity test. The study was conducted using a representative sample of the wastewater analyzed for COD and turbidity. The findings of the study reveals that turbidity test and COD relationship is developed. Furthermore, the method proves useful for stable colloidal wastes where the components are insoluble polymeric oxidants.
