The article presents information on the Veterans Day which is an opportunity to express thanks and appreciation to the veterans in the U.S. Although this holiday is celebrated nationwide in communities large and small, the 5lst Annual Veterans Day National Ceremony took place on Veterans Day, November 11, 2004, at Arlington National Cemetery, near Washington D.C. This year's host organization was the Non Commissioned Officers Association. To creatively and actively involve America's youth in celebrating Veterans Day and to promote greater awareness of this nation's 26 mfflion veterans and the sacrifices they made to ensure the freedoms they enjoy today, the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) created a Veterans Day Poster and Essay Contest Students were invited to submit posters and essays that expressed the theme "Honoring Those Who Sacrificed So That All Americans May Live in Freedom."
