The article focuses on Handicapped Travel Club Inc. (HTC) which was formed in August 1973, in Arcata, California, by five couples with disabilities from that state and Texas. Because these people had received so much therapy from travel and their association with other campers with disabilities, they decided to form a club to encourage other people with disabilities to travel, meet, and exchange ideas. HTC encourages people with disabilities and their families to travel, to meet, and to share information on making recreational vehicles accessible. "Fun and fellowship" is their motto.
