ABSTRACT
This article provides information on laser printers developed by Hewlett-Packard (HP). HP has introduced its largest of monochrome printers. There are six monochrome printing platforms that consist of 27 new individual products. HP denies that mono printing is a declining market with reductions in colour prices resulting in customers moving away from mono. The model ranges are: LaserJet 1160 for personal use with LaserJet Instant-on Technology, which enables it to finish print jobs from a cold start or power save mode before many competitive solutions have even started printing. LaserJet 2400 series for workgroups are desktop printers expandable to meet growing needs. LaserJet 4350 is claimed to be the fastest single function printer on the market. These printers are suitable to networks and can be customised to meet the needs of larger workgroup environments with a wide range of solutions and accessories. LaserJet 9050 is for high demand centres. This is a wide format printer with high-volume performance and low operating costs. A variety of high-capacity input and output options as well as other business solutions such as forms printing, or cluster printing, are available to minimise user intervention, including a new 8-bin mailbox device and a multi-function finisher.
