The article presents information on a case study of a 38-year-old man with a 20-year history of paranoid schizophrenia. Physical examination revealed engorgement of both the corpora cavemosa and the corpus spongiosa but no evidence of genital trauma. The patient had a history of psychotic symptoms. During the first 10 years of treatment, the patient had been given various traditional neuroleptics. The patient had no sign of infection; therefore, antibiotics were not given. The diagnosis of low-flow priapism in the patient requires immediate treatment to prevent tissue injury from ongoing stasis in the penile vasculature and to restore normal blood flow.
