ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the TV ad titled "Highway." What makes this :30 spot elegant isn't the way the Lexus ES glides on scenic roads, although that's part of it. What's especially charming is the minimalist soundtrack that eschews mechanical noise for an organic, hypnotic sound. Paul Bessenbacher's clean score is carried by a solo piano. The sound design scheme uses a glass sound for headlight closeups and wind sounds for a revving engine.
