UBS in 2004 was able to clinch the number one position because of its dominance in the negotiated sector--as the firm became the lead senior manager of choice among municipal bond issuers across the U.S. UBS in 2004 captured about 14.1% of the negotiated market by senior managing 559 issues worth an aggregate of $ 40.63 billion, according to data from Thomson Financial released on January 8, 2005.
