Made in Palestine

Smith, Pamela Ann

This article focuses on an exhibition in Palestine. The event which sparked all the controversy was not even an art show per se. Instead, it was a slide show of work by Palestinian artists from the West Bank, Gaza, Israel, Syria, Jordan and the U.S., based on a pioneering exhibition held at the ArtCar Museum in 2003 in Houston, Texas. Aside for those who went to see the art itself, and Palestinian sympathisers, the exhibition's visitors included Rabbi Michael Cahana of Temple Israel in suburban New Rochelle, an initial critic.
