ABSTRACT
The article presents statistical information on the securities related to the real estate industry in the U.S. Foreign investors are lowering the amount they plan to invest in the U.S. real estate, despite the weakness of the dollar. Due to high prices, investors outside the U.S. plan to reduce the U.S. percentage of their global real estate purchases in 2005 to 55%, down from 171% in 2004. Morgan Stanley has leased several floors of a downtown Manhattan skyscraper, One New York Plaza, where it will house 1500 people.
