ABSTRACT
The article reports on US Borax Inc., which is the world's leading producer of boron fertilizers. The California based company has been at the forefront of crop research since 1940, and continues to break new ground in boron science. Boron is one of seven essential plant micronutrients, but its effects are macro. Boron plays a vital role in plant reproduction, controlling flowering, pollen production, germination and fruit development. Boron is also necessary for plant growth, moving sugars from leaves to growth areas and roots. Independent research shows that Boron fertilizers can quadruple com yields and increase cotton yields by more than 500 pounds per acre.
