ABSTRACT
This article provides information on the Speech Communication Association (SCA) Convention which will be held in New York City on November 8-11, 1973. The heart of the convention will be the programs developed by the divisions of the association. However, SCA will continue to have a variety of other types of programs in order to maximize the probability that the convention will be worthwhile for every member of the association. Each division will take full responsibility for planning five programs. In addition, each division may schedule a Latest Developments Program if studies are completed by scholars too late to meet regular deadlines and are submitted to the division vice-chairman by September 15, 1973. Individual members, interested groups and divisions are invited to submit short course proposals for review by the Short Course Selection Committee. Action Caucus is designed to provide groups the opportunity to work on projects of mutual interest within or across divisional lines, bringing the entire resources of the convention to bear on the solution of a problem or the production of a product. For programs of invited papers, the title of each paper and brief description of the probable content of each should be provided and tentative commitment from each of the potential participants should be indicated.
