This article focuses on HarperCollins web campaign. HarperCollins, New York published the new Michael Crichton novel State of Fear last week amid the usual television and radio author interviews, but the online promotion is probably the largest Internet campaign in the publisher's history. Due to the book's political subject matter environmentalists manipulating the media and lying about the effects of global warming it has also been covered by media outlets usually not interested in novels. Apart from working with Fox, which is also owned by HarperCollins parent, News Corp., the book has been promoted on other news and politically-oriented Web sites.
