ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Conference Board of IFR Bond-Data Americas has said that the consumer confidence index surged to 102.3 in December from a revised 92.6 in November 2004. Economists purveyed by IFR Bond-Data Americas had expected the index would rise to 95.0 in December 2004. The present situation index rose to 105.9 in December 2004 from a revised 96.3 in November 2004, originally reported as 95.2. while the expectations index rose to 99.9 from a revised 90.2, originally reported at 87.4.
