ABSTRACT
This article reports that final third quarter GDP shows 4.0% growth in the U.S. market. The final figure came after a 3.9% growth rate in the preliminary figures and a 3.7% acceleration in the advance third quarter estimate. It also followed a 3.3% growth pace recorded for the second quarter of 2004 and a 4.5% pace in the first. The price index for gross domestic purchases, which measures prices paid by U.S. residents, increased 1.9% in the final figures, just above the 1.8% preliminary and advance estimates, and followed a 3.5% increase the previous quarter.
