The article reports that Central Pacific Mortgage Co. (CPM) is trying replicate its growth and knowledge by building a flexible, decentralized platform for retail originators to entice wholesale brokers into its mortgage network. CPM is promoting the ease-of-use of its upgraded Web-based origination procedures in its aggressive recruitment of potential new originators and brokers in the wholesale space. CPM has stopped using the phrase "net branch program." "Net" refers more to compensation, a model in which CPM's branch managers get paid, rather than describing how they operate.
