Assured, FSA Agree to Renew Contracts

The article focuses on Assured Guaranty Ltd. which announced that two of its operating subsidiaries have reached an agreement with Financial Security Assurance Inc. (FSA). The agreement aims to renew FSA's reinsurance contracts effective January 1, 2005. In 2004 the contracts were split between Assured Guaranty Re and Assured Guaranty Corp. Going forward, Assured Guaranty Re will reinsure the majority of the FSA business, in the wake of Assured Guaranty's strategic plan to operate its reinsurance business in Bermuda.
