The article states that organized network gives law firms a global reach. Midsize law firms can extend their grasp and influence by networking in a very formal way. Gene Esshaki, partner in Abbott Nicholson Quilter Esshaki & Youngblood P.C., said that working through a network of law firms enables his 25-lawyer, Detroit-based business-law firm to handle legal matters for national and international clients. Lawyer Abbott Nicholson joined Meritas, formerly Commercial Law Affiliates, about 12 years ago when it was a fledgling organization. Today, Meritas has more than 5,000 lawyers in firms in all 50 states and most countries. INSET: LEGAL ASSISTANCE..
