ABSTRACT
Robbie Proctor turned 120 hours of footage shot on a wide range of cameras during the Burning Man festival into a compelling feature-length documentary. Making and finishing a film about the annual Burning Man event is a lot like going to the festival itself: There's chaos, collaboration and a sense of newfound experience. The author was co-producer of Hotbed Media's attempt to capture Burning Man on celluloid and videotape-"Confessions of a Burning Man." The film follows four first-year attendees as they experience Burning Man, held in the Black Rock Desert, 120 miles north of Reno, Nevada. As the documentary unfolds, the desert festival of community and art infuses its dusty presence into every frame of the film.
