ABSTRACT
Comments on the Arab Human Development Report 2002 which was published by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Regional Bureau of Arab States. Comparison with the Human Development Index used in UNDP annual global reports; Factor that contributed to the placing Arab countries on at lowest scale of human development; Education problems common to Arab countries; Information on the most pressing socio-economic problem facing the region; Promotion of local governance as part of a system of decentralization of executive authority.
