This article reports on the thirty ninth Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Management Services held on October 8, 2004. There was very good attendance at the meeting and the concept of lifetime membership was supported by the corporate membership. There were five resolutions to consider--number one was to receive the Annual Report and Accounts which had been audited by Leftley Rowe and Company and this was carried by a show of hands by those attending the Annual General Meeting. Resolutions two and four were special resolutions as they were altering the Articles of Association and as such needed a 75 percent majority. At the Annual General Meeting, these two resolutions exceeded the 75% majority and were passed. Resolutions three and five were carried by a simple majority. Following the Annual General Meeting, there was open forum and members were able to raise points of concern and issues that they wanted the Council to consider. The issues raised included education, communication with members, changes to the Journal and the development of the Web site of the Institute. Les Rose has completed a thorough review of the Institute's archiving policy which was accepted by Council.
