This article presents information on the EPSON Perfection 4180 Photo scanner. Aimed at amateur photographers and photo enthusiasts who are looking for professional quality and performance, this scanner is ideal for those needing high-quality output from a cost effective device. The EPSON Perfection 4180 Photo has a class leading 48000 x 9600 dpi optical resolution, enabling users to make enlargements from both photographers and film. The scanner also has film-scanning capabilities thanks to the built-in adapter that handles multiple film formats. It can scan up to 12 x 35mm frames. Up to 4 x 35 mm mounted slides and up to 1 x 2cm 120/220 medium format film in one pass. The built-in film adapter scans multiple types of film, allowing users to easily scan negatives to produce high quality enlargements or archive film. In addition the scanner has an optional auto document feeder, which can handle 4.5 pages per minute. The EPSON Perfection 4180 Photo also includes EPSON's photo restoration software. The colour restoration function restores faded or discoloured images, even on black and white film and photos, making old images look as good as the day they were taken. The EPSON dust removal eliminates annoying dust from positive and negative film, helping users return their photographs to their original condition.
