eBay Book Volume Grows 33% In Q3

This article reports that online auction giant eBay Inc. watched its gross merchandise volume of books expand 33% in the third quarter 2004, with textbooks the fastest growing segment. According to a company spokesman, 3.8 million books are for sale on eBay at any given time, and a book is sold about every three seconds. An audiobook sells every 47 seconds on the site, a collectible book every 26 seconds and a wholesale "lot" is sold every seven minutes.
