The article gives information on the economic performance of various states of the United States. Alabama state's economy is in its best shape of the last five years, Governor Bob Riley said in a statement recently. The Corporation for Enterprise Development, a nonprofit organization in Washington D.C., found that Alabama ranked in the top 10 states in a variety of areas used to measure the health of the economy. Georgia's Department of Revenue said its collections for November were up 6% to about $1.2 billion. Moody's Investors Service Inc. on Monday upgraded Mississippi's rating on debt issued by the Mississippi State University Educational Building Corp. to Al from A2. Tennessee's November revenue collections were relatively weak, coming in less than budgeted and just 1.42% higher than in November 2003.
