ABSTRACT
The article informs that in-store bakery items have expanded from Krispy Kreme doughnuts to full lines of fresh-baked pastries, muffins, cookies and cakes. R.H. Foster Energy LLC, a Hampden, Maine-based convenience retailer that operates 17 Mobil On the Run locations in the Northeast, rolled out a fresh-baked product program about a year ago in nine of its stores. The bakery program is still in the developmental stage and constantly monitored for improvement. Another chain pinning its hopes on a bakery program is Ricker Oil, whose Flicker's Bakery, a centrally located retail bakery housed in an old c-store opened last year to provide fresh-baked sandwich breads, doughnuts, muffins and danishes to all of its convenience stores.
