ABSTRACT
Reports that speakers from the 2004 Softworld Accounting and Finance Conference in Birmingham, England have noted that the increase in corporate governance legislation has placed a demand on organizations to tackle asset management. Introduction of the International Financial Reporting Standards and the U.S. Sarbanes-Oxley Act; Need for companies to perform a detailed analysis of fixed assets as well as the different means of depreciation for finance leases and property restatement; Publishing of a financial literature designed by Assetware Technology on the subject of asset management.
