Reports that Herbert Smith has reaped around 5 million pounds in legal fees for its first 12 months of advising Great Britain's Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on the 48-billion pound nuclear clean-up program. Two-year contract to advise the DTI on the commercial aspects relating to the creation of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA); Exclusion of Slaughter and May, the government's principal adviser on nuclear issues, from pitching for the NDA mandate; Slaughters' selection as the government's adviser on British Energy restructuring.
