ABSTRACT
The article profiles Texas financial adviser Floyd Raymond Westerman who died at the age of 78. Mr. Westerman was a pioneer and founder of the public finance industry in the state of Texas. He began his career in public finance with San Antonio-based M.E. Allison & Co. in 1947, shortly after completing two years of service in the U.S. Navy. He later served as a financial adviser with Texas Securities, Knippe Financial Group and Southwest Securities. Thee last five years of Mr. Westerman's career was spent as a banker in the San Antonio office of SAMCO Capital Markets.
