ABSTRACT
The article presents a commentary on the study, which concluded that Helicobacter pylori eradication had no effect on heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux in H. pylori infection. The study by found that H. pylori eradication did not result in new or worsening gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms. Several points of this study deserve consideration. First, although the terms "heartburn" and "acid reflux" arc central to the study, they are not clearly defined in the report or in the reference cited by the authors.
