ABSTRACT
The article addresses the question as to what is the effect of its eradication on symptoms of heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection. In the study conducted in this regard, At 6 months, repeated UBT results were negative in 91% of patients in the eradication treatment group and 14% of those in the placebo group. The eradication-treatment group did not differ from the placebo group for rates of heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux. The article finally concludes that In patients with Helicobacter pylori infection, treatment to eradicate H. pylori had no effect on heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux.
