ABSTRACT
The article addresses the question whether fondaparinux is as effective as (noninferior to) enoxaparin for reducing symptomatic recurrent venous thromboembolic complications, major bleeding, or all-cause mortality in patients with acute symptomatic deep venous thrombosis (DVT). The article concludes that in patients with acute symptomatic deep venous thrombosis, fondaparinux was as effective as (noninferior to) enoxaparin for reducing symptomatic recurrent venous thromboembolic complications, major bleeding, and all-cause mortality.
