ABSTRACT
This article presents information related to information technology. Using technology to get an edge over competitors and to work with customers and suppliers are the top two Information Technology priorities, according to AMR Research's 2004 Information Technology. Initiatives in Retail report. Improving the store experience, loyalty programs, retail revenue management, retail planning technology and building a central, flexible product information database all top the list of things retailers are investing money in. Regarding store technology, retailers are focusing on customer data security through signature capture and biometrics; increased use of mobile technology; and improving the use of store-centric forecasting, planning and replenishment systems.
