This article presents information related to U.S. functional health products. The U.S. functional health products market is thriving, as consumers continue to seek quick fixes in their eternal quest to keep healthy and stay beautiful. A new report by London-based independent market analyst Datamonitor predicts that by 2008, Americans will spend almost$ 40 billion on functional food, drinks and supplements, representing a growth of 38 percent on 2003 levels. Promises of beauty benefits influence the nutraceutical purchases of 43 percent of consumers, reflecting the wide appeal of beauty food to U.S. consumers.
