ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the prospects of Internet telephony industry. Enter Internet telephony, the technology of telecommunications and telephone systems. If you own a business with remote offices, have employees that telecommute, are a residential consumer paying exorbitant long-distance rates or have a home-based office, this is a term that you should get to know. Internet telephony uses the protocols or rules of the Internet to make and receive phone calls just like the calls we make at home --well, almost. In fact, VO1P capability is being built into the majority of business telephone systems. Chances are, no matter what manufacturer makes your company's phone system, there are VOIP versions available.
