ABSTRACT
Over recent decades, the flow of television programs and services between nations has prompted concerns about "cultural imperialism". However, some of the peripheral countries now have developed strong television industries of their own. This paper brings together overviews of the most dynamic of these regions: Latin America, India, the Middle East, and in the English-speaking world, Canada and Australia.
