ABSTRACT
The article presents information dealing with children with blood pressure. Heart health begins early. That is why the National High Blood Pressure Education program, coordinated by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), is recommending that all kids have their blood pressure measured beginning at age 3. Due to the rise in obesity, pediatricians might also check for high cholesterol, diabetes, and sleep apnea — three health problems associated with being overweight. The NHLBI recommends lots of physical activity and keeping snacks low-fat to help prevent high blood pressure in children.
