This article presents a quiz for the readers of the journal "Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry," called Spectroscopy Challenge 4. Spectroscopic techniques are particularly powerful for structure elucidation when several methods are combined. There is certainly no unique approach to structure elucidation by spectroscopy that can be generalized. Depending on special personal knowledge and experience, the interpreter may start with any one spectroscopic method and try to proceed as far as possible while seeking assistance from others if he/she gets stuck or needs confirmation.
