Discusses the shortage of labor and efforts to relax the law restricting immigration in the U.S. Comment on suggestions given by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on need for foreign workers; Report that a restriction of immigration cuts off the supply and will leave industry with insufficient workers during a period of expansion; Comment on the relationship between production and employment; Information that new inventions, more and better machinery, and advanced techniques bring about the possibility of a rapid increase in per capita production.
