Ultrafast nonresonant third-order optical nonlinearities in ZnSe for photonic switching at telecom wavelengths

We report the steady-state and time-resolved i-scan measurements of the nonresonant third-order optical nonlinearities in ZnSe at telecom wavelengths. The measurements demonstrate that ZnSe could be used for ultrafast all-optical switching at 1310 and 1550 nm.
