ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the movie-based book "Friday Night Lights," by H.G. Bissenger. The release of the movie based on the book, coupled with a stronger interest in football books since the 2004 National Football League season started, brought the book to the list on the New York Times paperback nonfiction bestseller list, where it has had a presence for four weeks. The book, which is about a high school football team in Texas, was optioned by Imagine Entertainment in 1991, but a movie produced by Universal Studios Inc. didn't begin filming until February 2004. The movie was slated for an October 8, 2004 release.
