The article presents information about a recently held public debate on reform issues at Qatari Foundation in Doha, Qatar. "Arab governments are not serious about genuine reform" was a motion debated in public at the Qatari Foundation in Doha in October. Sponsored by Sheikha Mouza, the wife of Qatari leader Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, himself one of the Gulf's leading reformists, it marked the birth of Doha Debates. Sheikha Mouza's Qatari Foundation set up a team of former British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) producers and researchers from the BBC World programme, Hard Talk, the presenter of which, veteran BBC man Tim Sebastian, chaired the first debate.
