ABSTRACT
The article presents information on Credit Suisse First Boston Corp. (CSFB) which has been slowly climbing back, aided by such large deals as $4.3 billion announced acquisition of International Steel Group Inc. by Ispat International NV, a steel consolidator that, with the deal, has become the world's largest steel company. With its new merger and acquisition (M&A) head, Marc Granetz, CSFB has been trying to revitalize the group. In the Ispat deal, CSFB deployed bankers from both its industrials group and M&A group, working with steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal.
