ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the financial market of South-East U.S. Governor Bob Riley on Friday announced that the number of unemployed Alabamians dropped by 7,800 in September, which helped produce a strong decline in the state's unemployment rate. Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin on Tuesday said a recent analysis of collections resulting from a 1% sales tax dedicated to pay for water and sewer system repairs shows that the revenue will help keep a lid on rate hikes for water and sewer service. Treasurer Tate Reeves warned this week that while analysts affirmed the Mississippi's double-A rating recently, it will take a concerted effort to bring recurring expenses in line with recurring revenue.
