ABSTRACT
The article reports that Puerto Rico Aqueduct & Sewer Authority (Prasa) has contracted a firm that will use a robot to repair the Ponce wastewater-treatment plant's outfall, which has developed several leaks, said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Prasa has six wastewater-treatment plants. Five have been granted waivers by the EPA to continue using the primary treatment method. The plant in Ponce has also applied for a waiver. Under federal law, all wastewater-treatment plants must provide secondary treatment unless they receive 301(h) waivers.
