ABSTRACT
This article reports that the streets of Dinard, the quaint French town on the Brittany coast that hosts the Dinard Festival of British Film every year in October, were festooned with flags and posters to mark the centenary celebrations of the Entente Cordiale agreements, which paved the way for cooperation between the two neighbors in the 20th century. More than 20,000 tickets were sold during the four-day event, and audiences, who vote to award the Hitchcock d' Argent public prize, were not in the slightest bit deterred by the gut-wrenching themes explored in almost all of the six films in competition.
